一、培养目标
Ⅰ. Educational Objectives
本专业为地方经济社会发展培养德、智、体、美全面发展,掌握扎实的金属材料科学与工程方面的基础知识,具有金属材料的设计、选用和热处理工艺、设备设计的初步能力,能够在金属热处理、腐蚀与防护、表面工程、金属材料加工、材料研究与分析等领域从事工艺及设备设计、技术开发与改造、运行管理等方面工作的具有创新精神和实践能力的高素质应用型工程技术人才。
This specialty aims to cultivate application-oriented high-level talents, who will be fully developed morally, intellectually, physically, and aesthetically, who will be qualified for the industrial development and local economic construction with innovative spirits and practical working ability. Students of our specialty will have a good basis of knowledge and engineering practice in metallic material science and engineering. They are expected to have a preliminary capacity of designing and selecting metal materials, heat treatment processing and equipment design. With these qualities, they could be qualified for various jobs such as process and equipment design, technical development and reconstruction, operational management in the fields of metals heat treatment, corrosion and protection, surface engineering, metal material processing, and materials research and analysis, etc.

Ⅱ. Training Requirements
1.毕业生应获得以下几方面的知识与能力:
(1)掌握较扎实的自然科学基础知识,具有良好的人文社会科学和外语综合能力;
(2)掌握材料科学、机械工程等基础理论,具有本专业必须的机械、电工与电子技术、计算机应用的基本知识和技能;
(3)掌握金属材料加工、金属热处理等方面的专业知识和技术管理知识,具有金属材料选用、热处理工艺设计与设备选择的初步能力;
(4)掌握金属热处理检验及产品质量控制基本方法;
(5)掌握文献检索及运用现代信息技术获取相关信息的基本能力;
(6)具有研究开发新材料、新工艺和新设备的初步能力;
(7)具有良好的口头表达和人际沟通与交往能力,能在团队中积极发挥作用,具备一定的组织管理能力;
(8)具备终身学习的意识,具有较强的自学能力和适应专业发展所必需的能力;
(9)具有健康的体魄和良好的心理素质。
The graduates of this specialty are expected to acquire the following knowledge, capabilities and qualities:
(1)Mastering the well-knit basic knowledge of natural sciences, a good knowledge in humanities and social sciences and a comprehensive ability of using foreign language;
(2)Mastering fundamental theories of materials science and mechanical engineering, and having necessary basic knowledge and skills required for this specialty, including mechanism, electrical engineering and electronic technology as well as computer application;
(3)Mastering specialized knowledge and technical management ability in metallic materials process and metal heat treatment, and having some initial capabilities of metal material selection, heat treatment process design and selection of metallic materials and equipment;
(4)Mastering the basic methods of examining and controlling metallic produce’ quality;
(5)Having the basic capabilities of information query, document retrieval by means of modern information technology;
(6)Having a preliminary ability of doing scientific research in developing new materials, techniques and equipment;
(7)Having good communication skills especially in speaking and writing with good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of playing an active role in teamwork; Having a certain ability of organizational management;
(8)Having a strong ability of independent learning and lifelong learning awareness, with the adaptive ability to the continuous development of the specialty;
(9)Having a healthy body and good psychological quality.

五、学制与学位
Ⅴ. Duration of Program and Degree
学制:四年,按照学分制管理机制,实行三至六年弹性学习年限。
Duration:Four Years, In accordance with the credit system management mechanism, flexible learning years from three to six years,is implemented.
学位:符合《太阳集团tyc539学士学位授予工作细则》规定的毕业生授予工学学士学位。
Awarded Degree: The graduate whoever meets with the provisions of ‘Bachelor’s Degree Granting Regulations of Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology’ will be conferred the Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering.
